Wall Street futures showed moderate declines ahead of the bell on Friday after China Evergrande, one of China’s largest property developers, filed for protection in a U.S. bankruptcy court. United States in New York, raising concerns about the country’s real estate sector and related debts.
Yields on 10-year US Treasuries cooled slightly but remained above 4.20% early in the morning.
In futures, the S&P 500 fell 0.2%, the Nasdaq 0.4%, and the Dow Jones 0.2%.
Asian stock markets traded lower overnight, while European stock markets headed south at midday on the continent.
Ross Stores (ROST) rose 4.8% before closing after the discount clothing retailer reported upbeat second-quarter results and guidance in the aftermarket on Thursday. Deere (DE) and Estee Lauder (EL) plan to report earnings before the bell, among others.
On the economic calendar is the Census Bureau’s Q2 services survey at 10 a.m. ET, followed by a weekly survey
Baker Hughes National Oil and Gas rig counts at 1 p.m.
Before hitting the market, bitcoin was trading at $26,446, West Texas Intermediate crude was trading at $80.31, and the 10-year U.S. Treasury bond yielded 4.22 %. Gold is trading at $1895/oz.
